Let’s Go Camping - Prineville Reservoir @ Jasper Point

JUNE 28-30: The Jasper Point area of Prineville Reservoir State Park is the location for a family-friendly, guided weekend outing for beginning campers of all ages. We bring the camping gear so you don’t have to!  Our experienced volunteers provide hands-on clinics to share a variety of camping skills, from setting up your tent and camp kitchen to cooking over a campfire and using a Dutch oven. Together, we’ll discover great tips to lessen our impact on the land through Leave No Trace activities.

For this weekend, we are partnering with the Central Oregon Disability Support Network to promote this as an adaptive camping event where 1 or more family members experience disabilities.  We’ll plan activities where everyone can experience success and enjoy a safe, fun time recreating outdoors!

We will offer some of the following activites:

  • Kayaking
  • Birding
  • Nature arts & crafts
  • Jr. Ranger kid's activities
  • Ranger-led campfire programs
  • Night sky interpretation
  • A nighttime owl prowl or bat chat!

Note: There is a limit of 8 people per family and the $30 fee applies to the group.  In the quantity field, please enter the total number of people in your family attending the event, up to a maximum of 8.  You will receive an email within 48 hours requesting additional information for your family’s gear needs.  Your reservation is not final until you complete the information requested. Sorry, but due to the nature of this event as a social, group experience, pets are not allowed.
