JUNE 28-30: The Jasper Point area of Prineville Reservoir State Park is the location for a family-friendly, guided weekend outing for beginning campers of all ages. We bring the camping gear so you don’t have to! Our experienced volunteers provide hands-on clinics to share a variety of camping skills, from setting up your tent and camp kitchen to cooking over a campfire and using a Dutch oven. Together, we’ll discover great tips to lessen our impact on the land through Leave No Trace activities.
For this weekend, we are partnering with the Central Oregon Disability Support Network to promote this as an adaptive camping event where 1 or more family members experience disabilities. We’ll plan activities where everyone can experience success and enjoy a safe, fun time recreating outdoors!
We will offer some of the following activites:
Note: There is a limit of 8 people per family and the $30 fee applies to the group.
