Wallowa Lake First Day Hike - Jan. 1, 2019

Join us for our first guided hike of the new year. Enjoy stunning views of Wallowa Lake while walking the glacial moraines. Keep your eyes open for mule deer and fox sightings. Hot chocolate, coffee, and s’mores will be provided by park rangers.

Meet at: Parking area across from the south entrance of Iwetemlaykin State Heritage Site

Trail Name: East Moraine Trail

Trail Terrain: Difficult

Length of Hike: 5 miles

Minimum Age for Children: 10 years old

Things to Note: Not recommended for small kids. Terrain will be tough if there is snow. Bring snowshoes or Yaktrax for slipping. The park will have a few snowshoes available for participants. Bring water, snacks, and appropriate layers of clothing.Bring fun stories to share about the moraine history.
