Stub Stewart: After Dark

Meet at the Dairy Creek West Campground Amphitheatre at 9pm. Join a Park Ranger on a journey through the nocturnal world of Stub Stewart State Park! Bats, owls, rodents, raccoons and a whole host of other wildlife survive and thrive in the woods after the sun goes down. Learn about the night time cycles of life in the forest and what humans can do to preserve them.

Pets are welcome to join but must be on a leash no longer than six feet. Children must be accompanied by a parent or gaurdian.

This hike will be approximately 1.5 miles long and consists of packed dirt trail surfaces. A head lamp or flashlight is advised. The Park Ranger guide will also have a light source. The terrain is uneven and includes moderate elevation gain. Sturdy hiking shoes or boots are advised, as trail conditions may vary depending on weather.  Oregon State Parks is committed to making our events accessible to everyone. If you require an accommodation or service to fully participate, please contact Park Ranger Jeremy Williams at (503) 724-8429 at least three days prior to the event.
