Banks-Vernonia First Day Hike – Jan. 1, 2018

Our First Day Hike crosses the Buxton trestle as we see expansive views of the Oregon Coast Range and northwest native plants in Douglas fir stands originally managed for logging.

Meet At: Buxton Trailhead

Trail Name: Banks-Vernonia State Trail

Trail Terrain: Moderate. Be prepared for uneven, potentially slippery surfaces.

Length of Hike: Two miles

Minimum Age for Children: Best for hikers age 12 or older, or younger if abilities warrant.

Things to Note: Dogs allowed on 6-foot leash only. Trail is not adequate for child strollers.
