Sunday Funday: Banks-Vernonia Trail Guided Bike Ride

Join a Park Ranger on a guided bicycle ride down the Banks-Vernonia State Trail! Explore the history of the Banks-Vernonia corridor from the depths of ancient oceans to the building of the rail road to the present day. Learn about local plants, animals, and ecology while getting some exercise in the great outdoors!

Participants must bring their own bikes and helmets. Be advised that the trailhead has no running water. Bring full water bottles. Weather conditions vary widely at this time of year, so come prepared for rain or sun.

Guided ride leaves from the Buxton Trailhead: 24600 NW Bacona Rd. Buxton, OR 97109

No day-use fee required at this location.

Plan for a roughly 7 mile round trip ride (3.5 miles out and back) with slight elevation gain on the first leg and an easier downhill return trip.
