Tryon Creek Birding 101

An Introduction to Birding and Bird Identification

Watching and listening to birds in parks and around your home has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress and increase feelings of wellbeing and connection to nature. As a beginner, learning the species’ names of birds you see can be challenging. In this two part series, learn the basics of bird identification and then use them in the field the following morning while walking the trails in the park. Topics: bird features, basic bird identification, ethics and resources. Total walk Saturday morning will be approximately 2 miles.

Friday, April 26, 7-9 PM in the Classroom of the Nature Center
