Oregon State Parks invite you to join Award-Winning author Silpa Kona for the launch of 'A Dragon in My Campground', a reading, and a Monster Watchers camping activity for kids and families. Books will be available at the Visitor Center store.

Silpa Kona is an Oregon children's author and the creator of the Monster Watchers series, picture books that get kids outdoors on Pacific Northwest trails. Book 1, A Monster on My Trail, won a Moonbeam Gold Medal, and Book 2, A Dragon in My Campground, earned a Kirkus "GET IT" review. She lives in Beaverton.

Event takes place at the Champoeg State Heritage Area visitor center. Pets are not allowed inside the building. Children must be accompanied by a parent or gaurdian. Event is free, but all vehicles must display a valid Oregon State Parks parking pass or camping reservation.
