Join a park ranger for an evening of owling!
We will begin with an indoor presentation, “All About Owls,” and an owl pellet dissecting activity, for those who are interested. After the sun has set, we will embark on a short, ½-mile round trip hike to call for owls. This can require some patience, so it may not be suitable for children under 5 years of age. This portion of the event usually lasts 30-45 minutes, so be sure to dress warmly and be prepared for the weather. A flashlight is also recommended, as we will be walking over some uneven terrain.
The owl prowls will be held at the following locations:
February 8: North Canyon Meeting Hall
February 15: Smith Creek Meeting Hall
February 22: Davidson Ranch
An email will be sent to registered participants the Wednesday before the event with specific directions to the owl prowl location as well as other updates and important reminders.
This park requires a day-use parking permit, which may be purchased at the park for $10. You also may purchase a 12-month or 24-month parking permit from the online park store.
