The Deschutes River Horse Trail is a 22-mile round trip former railbed trail, open to riding from March 1–June 30, from sunrise to sunset. It’s limited to 10 horses per day, so advanced reservations are required. The trail starts at the Deschutes River State Recreation Area campground entrance parking lot, & ends at Harris Ranch. Explore the upper reaches of Prineville Reservoir from the water on a guided kayak tour led by our interpretive staff, launching from Jasper Point Boat Ramp. Paddle past dramatic cliffs and rolling hills while learning about local geology, High Desert wildlife, area history, and the water cycle.
