The Lower Deschutes River Patrol
Want a change of scenery? Need to get out of the office? Would you like to practice your Ranger skills on a new Range?
If you answered yes to any of the above then I have your ticket to a 2-day river rafting work opportunity!
The Nitty Gritty
(A more detailed trip description and information will be emailed to you at the time of sign up.)
This is a trip where the main objective is river user education, safety, and compliance with a healthy dose of backcountry toilet cleaning. It involves Central Oregon heat, Deschutes River whitewater, stiff canyon winds, spectacular starry nights, lonesome train whistles, and some of the best scenery you will ever have the excellent opportunity to float by! Hold on. Let me check my bias… Yep best scenery for sure.
You will need to plan on bringing your own camping gear and your own food and water for 4 meals; 2 lunches, 1 dinner, and 1 breakfast plus some snacks. I have all the gear for rafting and keeping your personal items dry. There is room for three people on the raft so that is one of me and two of you per descent down the slickest of gradients aka a river.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me anytime at Benjamin.Asmus@oregon.gov. (For those wondering it is pronounced Been Jammin’! As in I have been jammin’ all my life)
I try my best to respond as soon as possible as my schedule allows.
Thank you for all the hard work you do every day and I look forward to being able to answer any questions you might have as well as work alongside the greatest State Parks employees in the Nation.
(Bias check…maybe a little, maybe, but not much.)
